Enjoy
hand sewing? Then English paper piecing-also known as EPP-is for you.
In this class you'll learn the techniques to create hexagons, then
whipstitch seven finished hexies together to form a flower. EPP papers
come in myriad shapes and sizes and completed shapes are great for
adorning bags, aprons, and more. We'll talk about using machine and hand
appliqué to do that and if time permits you can appliqué your flower to
a dishtowel, as shown in the photo. (Toweling is available in at Home
Ec Workshop and we recommend purchasing and pre-washing it before
class.) Included in the class are 15 paper hexagons to get you started,
and an appropriate needle.
Supplies needed:
fabric scissors, pins (appliqué pins are great if you've got 'em),
fabric scraps to use for your hexagons, and sewing thread that blends
with your fabric.
