Kids Summer Camps 2015
Does
your kiddo have a desire to learn how to sew, knit, quilt, or weave? Do
you want your kids to attend an insanely fun summer camp with other
kids their own age? Home Ec. Summer Camps are perfect for your kid(s)!
Summer 2015 brings with it amazing, ALL NEW summer camps as well as
popular camps from last year featuring new activities and projects!
Each
camper will develop lifelong skills through fun, interactive projects.
Every camper will leave camp with their own handmade creations, along
with a special surprise that will always remind them of Home Ec. summer
camp! The schedule below provides information about each of the camps.
The cost includes instruction, as well as all of the supplies necessary
for the crafts.
Cancellation Policy*
We
require at least two weeks notice if you are going to cancel your
child's registration to one of our camps. There will be a $50
cancellation fee taken out of your refund. If you cancel two weeks or
less prior to the start of the camp, we are unable to offer a refund or
store credit. No make up dates will be offered if your child misses any
days of camp.
Sewing Camp
Monday-Friday, June 8-12, 12-3

This
summer camp is the perfect way for your kids to join the world of Fiber
Arts. We will be teaching a variety of crafts using wool fiber and
yarn. Projects will include learning how to spin yarn on a C.D. spindle,
how to weave on a Cricket loom, how to knit, and how to dye with
Kool-Aid!
Room Décor Camp

Little Big Kid Craft Camp

At
Home Ec., we know all kids want to craft, which is why we are offering a
camp specifically for those crafters who may not be old enough for
other camps! The projects in this class are specially geared for smaller
hands. Campers will get to make felted soap bars, do origami, make
Pinecone people, pocket pals and a pillow with their own artwork on it!
This camp is the perfect way to expose your little one to the amazing
world of crafting!
Quilting Camp
Monday-Friday, July 6-10, 12-3

Ages 8 and up
Quilting
camp is back by popular demand! Kids will make a whole quilt within the
week! The pattern this year is Windows and Walk, designed especially
for our Home Ec. Summer camps. Campers will learn to cut, sew, tie, and
attach a separate binding. This is a fun quilt from start to finish. By
the end of the week, each camper will have a quilt that they sewed
themselves and the skill set to continue on without fear into more
quilting adventures!
Fairy Tale Crafts Camp
Monday-Friday, July 20-24, 9-12

Ages 8 and up
Once
upon a time, there was a Home Ec. camp that allowed your kid to be
transported to the magical world of Fairy Tales. Each craft will be
inspired by a classic fairy tale and include a Little-Red Riding Hood
Doll, Three Little Pigs finger puppets, a Princess and the Pea pocket
pal, and a embellished skirt fit for a princess.
Fun with Felt Camp
Monday-Friday, July 27-31, 12-3

Join
us as we construct tiny terrariums, colorful ornaments, fun Pinecone
People and Owls, coasters, and travel game boards. Kids will leave camp
with amazing felt projects and inspiration for future felt endeavors!
Monday-Friday, August 3-7, 9-12

Ages 8 and up
We'll
start off Paper Craft week by making our own paper! Then campers will
learn how to embellish paper by marbling and stamping. They will quill
incredibly-cute animals and learn how to create paper mache. Although a few paper cuts may ensue, campers will be having too much fun to care!
Up-cycled Craft Camp
Monday-Friday, August 10-14, 9-12

Ages 8 and up
All
week long, campers will learn about different ways of repurposing
objects into amazing projects. Campers will be able to make Hot-Air
Balloons out of recycled paper, use toilet paper rolls to make Holiday
Crackers and a Knitting Mushroom, take a glass jar and turn it into a
snow globe, along with many more activities! This is the perfect
opportunity for kids to learn about all of the different ways that
crafting can be environmentally friendly and fun!
