Halloween Owl Masks
with Lauren Halderman
Sundays, October 13 and 20, 1-3PM
$35 (+$20 for supplies)
Children accompanied by an adult are welcome.
In this exciting and easy workshop, participants will work with papier-mâché, paint and decoupage to make their own Halloween owl mask!
We will begin with owl shaped-molds, adding papier-mâché layers to create a strong, dynamic mask structure. Participants will discover how to use cheap and easily available materials to utilize classic papier-mâché techniques. The class will then refine their masks, smoothing, sanding and sculpting the form until it is ready to paint.
After the mask structures are dry, participants decorate their masks, using acrylic paint, acrylic medium, glitter and decoupage. Ideas for patterns and suggestions will be provided.
At the end of the class, everyone will be invited to engage in an outdoor photo shoot at Hickory Hill Park using the masks that they've made!
